SEM-SAFE Fire Safety A/S History

In 2006, two leading firms in the field, Danfoss A/S and Semco Maritime A/S, joined forces to form Danfoss Semco A/S. Semco Maritime has over half a century of expertise in designing and installing fixed fire fighting systems for the marine industry whereas Danfoss has developed and delivered key components for high-tech systems for decades.

The Fire Fighting Division of Semco Maritime has over 50 years of expertise in the design, engineering and delivery of a variety of fire fighting systems for the demanding marine and offshore industries. Throughout this time, Danfoss A/S has developed and delivered the key components for the high-tech high pressure water mist systems engineered by Semco.

Until December 2024 Danfoss Fire Safety A/S was an integral part of the Danfoss Group, Denmark’s largest industrial manufacturing company with a daily output of more than 250,000 finished components. With more than 42,000 employees worldwide, Danfoss is truly a global company.

On 1 December 2024 the successful closure of the sale of Danfoss Fire Safety A/S to Siemens was announced, following the agreement announced on 8 October 2024. Danfoss Fire Safety A/S has therefore changed the legal company name to SEM-SAFE Fire Safety A/S, effective 1 December 2024. SEM-SAFE Fire Safety A/S reports to the Fire Safety Business, which is part of the Buildings Business Unit at Siemens Smart Infrastructure.
